Can the VL trip units be replaced in the field?

Provided the VL breaker is an interchangeable trip unit, the trip units can be replaced in the field.

Some versions of the breaker are listed as non-interchangeable trip units which would be indicated by the third digit in the catalog number. Digits such as an X, Y, or K in the third digit would indicate a non-interchangeable trip unit.
