NFPA 72 requirements state:
- Section 10.5.5.2.2 – For fire alarm systems the circuit disconnecting means shall be identified as “FIRE ALARM CIRCUIT” *(this can be done on the panel label where the contractor writes the circuit information)
- Section 10.5.5.2.3 – For fire alarm systems the circuit disconnecting means shall have a red marking. *(Shall have a red marking – it doesn’t say the breaker has to be red. For years, the guys used to just put a red dot on the handle with finger nail polish)
