How to add a Control Power Transformer (CPT) in a Switchboard?


A CPT is often used to provide power to metering circuits. Usually by stepping down from a 480V main system to 120V control power.

Option #1: If there is not already an auxiliary compartment in the lineup

1. Add an auxiliary compartment - This is required to mount the CPT + fuses + control power disconnect (CPD)

2. Add metering accessories to the auxiliary compartment

3. Select voltage transformer Note: the factory will size the transformer as required

Option #2: If there is already an auxiliary compartment in the lineup

1. Look in the device modifications tab for a "Control Power Transformer" selection
