How to install the BSS for a WL breaker?
1. Remove the trip unit from the breaker, disconnecting all the wiring from the secondary disconnect blocks.
2. Remove the connector with the two twisted pairs (CubicleBUS wires) from X27 and set aside. Remove the CubicleBUS wires from the BSS and attach to the trip unit X27. Attach the CubicleBUS wires removed from the trip unit to the BSS.
3. Install the (bell alarm) switch onto the trip unit carrier with the two screws provided. Route the wires and secure in place with a cable tie.
4. Attach the 4 CubicleBUS wires from the BSS to the secondary disconnect terminals X8.1 thru X8.4 (wires are hot-stamped).
5. Attach the BSS to the side of the operating mechanism by fitting the upper spring holder into the upper slot and then pressing upwards to allow the lower spring holder to fit into the lower slot.
6. Verify that the actuator on the upper-most switch rides on the outside of the ready-to-close mechanism and does not bind.
7. Install the mechanism status cam and secure with the retaining ring.
8. Install the trip unit and connect the white connector from the new bell alarm switch to the corresponding connector from the BSS.
9. Reattach all other wires. This video is meant only to enhance, not replace, the operating instructions enclosed with every product. Please review all instructions carefully before viewing the video. Product instructions are subject to technical changes without prior notice.
