P2 and P3 Cross Kit Breaker Placement (Video 8.55 min)

P2 and P3 Cross Kit Breaker Placement

COMPAS Go allows users to place breakers to match the panelboard schedule. P2 and P3 panelboards follow the placement rules similar to P4 or P5 when placing branch breakers. The branch breakers do not cross kits.

The P2 and P3 branch breakers default to kit placement.  COMPAS Go allows the placement of breakers across kits when kits are merged creating a larger branch breaker kit.

Breaker Placement:

  • Click on Layout / Design
  • Click on Mechanical Layout
  • Merge two nearest kits. Click the Merge Icons. Then click on Merge Kits. Move any remaining breakers to the workbench by clicking on the workbench icon  next to the branch breaker.
  • Now the two selected kits are merged.  Users can drag and drop breakers within the layout.  To move breaker from the workbench click the breaker.  The breaker line turns blue. (Note the garbage can for deletion) Do not Drag and Drop from the workbench.
  • Move the green box to the selected circuits.

The wrench provides three options:

  • 1. Kit Properties

The Kit Properties provides information on the selected kit.  It also has the ability to change the selected kit height .  Check the “Allow Kit Height Changes” and then select the required Kit Height value. When using this feature users must move breakers to the workbench then delete the existing kit before changing the height.

  • 2. Clear Kit

Clear Kit will move all the branch breakers to the workbench leaving the kit.

  • 3. Delete (Kit)

Delete will delete the kit and breakers from the configuration.

Note: When P2 panelboards show an empty space in the layout this means there is no provisions for future branch breakers. Users can check “Fill to Specified Ckt. Count” to provide provisions from two places.
