COMPAS Go: SIEBREAK metal-enclosed switchgear (Video 6.27 min)

This article provides steps and information on how to SIEBREAK metal-enclosed switchgear  in COMPAS Go.

Metal-enclosed, load-interrupter switchgear up to 1,200 AMP at 15 kV

SIEBREAK Tips and Tricks

1. Configuration Type:

  • Standalone Bay – Line Cable, Load Cable.
  • Transformer Primary – Line Cable, Load Close-Coupled. (Transformer)
  • Lineup(s)
    • Main – Line Cable, Load Close-Coupled. (Transition)
    • Main w/ Lower Main Bus – Line Cable, Load Close-Coupled (Transition)   or Load Lower Main Bus.
    • Tie – Line Tie Bus, Load Tie Bus or Load Close-Coupled. (Transition)
    • Feeder – Line Main Bus, Load Cable.

2. Rated Voltage: Voltage can be changed by selecting the required operating voltage.
3. Interrupt Ratings:

  • The first rating is the “Symmetrical”.
  • The second rating is the “Asymmetrical or Momentary”.

4. Depth Rules:

  • Front Access is 56” deep, requires Bolted Rear Panels and needs Pull Sections for Cable Terminations.
  • Type 2 and Type 3R require 72” deep and rear access.
  • Duplex and Selector require 72” deep and rear access.
  • VT and CPT require 72” deep and rear access.
  • The “Depth Selection” will be set by these rules.  The only time depth should be manually changed is if the rules resolve to 62” deep and the customer would like to change to 72” deep for extra depth.

5. Switch Type:  Duplex and Selector switch type are only available in Standalone Bay and Transformer Primary. (Not available in Lineups)
6. Momentary Rating: If 81kA, then the switch must be fused.  81kA with an unfused switch will cause a conflict.

7. Terminations:

  • Standalone Bay – Line and Load Cables must exit same direction. (Top/Top or Bottom/Bottom)
  • Front Access
    • Standalone Bay – Cable Pull Section Line and Load Position must be same. (Left/Left or Right/Right)
    • Transformer Primary and Lineup – Line and Load Position must be opposite (Left/Right or Right/Left) if applicable.

8. Options:

  • No VT, CPT, CT, or meter in Front Access. (See 4d)
  • Standard configuration rules prevent VT and CPT in same section.
  • Consult AE if combination of options selected conflicts in COMPAS Go.  It might be possible to do as a custom.

9. Seismic Selection: is currently set to Non-Seismic.  Both Seismic and OSHPD are available.
