COMPAS Go: Unit Substation (Video 16.57 Min)

This article has a training video for Unit Substation (USS) in COMPAS Go. Unit Substations consist of a Primary, Transformer and Secondary.  High Voltage enters through the Primary section and exits through the Secondary. There is always a transformer between the Primary and Secondary.

HV Primary Switch: Configure both “SIEMENS SIEBREAK” or Third-Party types. For Third-Party pricing, a RFQ (Request for Quote) must be submitted to MAP by Sales. Specifications and one line are required. The Third-Party Primary Switch configuration section of the USS requires pricing from a Map quote.

Transformer: Request for pricing must be submitted to MAP. RFQ (Request for Quote). Specifications and one line are required.
The transformer configuration section of the USS requires pricing and dimensions from the Map quote.

Secondary: Configure Switchboard / LV Switchgear and add it to the Unit Substation. (Nested Configurator) Users can also import an existing Switchboard / LV Switchgear configuration from another quote.

RFQ Documents: If specifications or one line documentation are not available for a Third-Party Primary Switch or the Transformer, users can get a check list. Check lists for Metal Enclosed Switchgear, Unit Substation Dry Type and Liquid Filled Transformers can be found in “Ask Sandy”.  Search for “Checklist” to find these topics containing Word Doc check lists. MAP Process  (Material Apparatus Pricing)

  • All Third Party, Buy Out item pricing comes from MAP.
  • Sales only can contact MAP for Pricing.
  • Sales can request pricing for Third Party product requests for Channel Partners.
  • Map Third Party Pricing is for 30 days! MAP quotes older than 30 days must be re-quoted!
  • Do not assume the pricing will be the same! Do not estimate Third Party prices due to the existing manufacturing changes in commodity pricing.
  • The MAP Quote will provide Quote details with a “NET” Price.  (Not Discountable)

Unit Substation Tips

  • When configuring a USS remember you are working with three independent products to make up one USS. Primary Switch, Transformer and Switchboard or LV Switchgear.
  • Pricing/discounts are applied to each product, NOT one discount for all three products!  Map Transformer quote and Third-Party Primary Switch prices are “Net” and not discountable.
  • Users can choose between two sources for the Primary Switch. Third-Party by specifications or Siemens SIEBREAK.
  • A USS by default is configured Close-Coupled. Note: Switchboards Incoming Termination selection: Change from Cable to “Transformer Connection”. The Incoming Termination selection to Transformer Connection will set the Incoming Location.  (We are keeping the USS all lined up for you.)
  • USS Transformer and Third-Party HV Switch pricing comes from MAP. Provide Specifications and One Line or a Check List to Map for a quote. On order entry, attach the quote (Documents) from MAP on the Third-Party HV Switch line or the Transformer line. Reference the Map Quote number and details of the quote with quoted price. This information is required for Tech Review and Pricing approval. Vendor Transformer drawings are available after order entry.
