My transformer is so hot, I can’t touch it. Is this normal? Is it overheating?


Temperature measurements should be taken at the top center of the enclosure. This can be done with a thermo couple type device or a simple bulb type thermometer held down to the surface with a piece of clay.

All ventilation openings should be clear and the distance from the wall as stated on the nameplate must be maintained. The table below indicates the maximum enclosure temperature allowed. See the trouble shooting guide for additional information.
