This article explains the Tiastar Arc Resistant MCC configuration.

• The newly Released tiastar Arc Resistant MCC is now available for selection in COMPAS.
• The Arc Resistant MCC selection will drive a S (Near Standard) lead time.
• The tiastar Arc Resistant MCC carries a Net Price Premium of around 13% over a Standard tiastar MCC, assuming similar options selected, as detailed later.

Type 2 Arc Resistant tiastar Low Voltage Motor Control Center compliant with IEEE C37.20.7 -2007. The type 2 Arc Resistant MCC contains special design features which are intended to provide an additional degree of protection to the personnel performing normal operating duties in close proximity to the equipment while the equipment is operating under normal conditions. It protects the operator in front, back and sides of the equipment.
There is one version of the type 2 Arc Resistant MCC available: The offering has an arc resistant rating of 65KA for 50 msec.

1. Launch MCC configuration as shown below by clicking on the "Add Products" from the action menu.

2. On doing so, the following is available to the user. Click on the "Arc Resistant" as shown below and complete the configuration.

•  BTB and double deep sections not supported
•  Section width: 20” or 30” wide only
•  40”, 50” and 60” wide units not supported
•  Opposite hinged doors not supported
•  Corner sections not supported
•  Transfer Switches not supported
•  Bolted pressure switch units not supported
•  16” wide space units are limited to 6” or 12” high only
•  20” or 30” wide space units can be 6” –72” high
•  Incoming may be MLO, MCB 1600 A max, MDS 1600 A max or WL 1600 A max or splice to existing*.
•  Unit types can be any we offer available in 20” and 30” wide sections, including vented units (VFD, RVSS) 

*: The Arc Resistant MCC should not be spliced to a Non-Arc Resistant MCC.

Dimension:

The Arc Resistant MCC will be 20” deep, any width but using only 20” and 30” wide sections, and 102” high due to the required use of a 12” modified pull box or top hat with pressure flaps installed throughout the MCC.
