This article has a training video on how to use “Lead Time Information” and Standard Product “Check Availability” in COMPAS Go.
Note:
Although we are working hard to meet the delivery and performance dates, temporary delays in delivery and service performance concerning us and/or our suppliers/sub-contractors may occur as a result of the Covid19 virus. Therefore, the delivery/performance date is non-binding. The delivery/performance is subject to uninterrupted supply chain, production and logistics and may be postponed. Also, we have to reserve the right to partial delivery/performance of service. If you have questions, please get in touch with your local Siemens contact.
For the most accurate estimate of product available for your COMPAS quotes it is recommended that you check availability at the time of order entry. The following video demonstrates how to do this in COMPAS.
Standard Lead Time
From the Home Page, under Announcements, Siemens publishes Standard Lead Times. As stated, “Use Standard lead time as a reference”.
Standard Lead Times are found in the Shipping Screen.
Standard Lead Times can be added to your Proposal by selecting Requested Lead Time in Proposal Options.
Check Availability
When quoting a job that includes Standard Products any reference to Lead Times comes from the Standard Lead Time List. This list represents a Standard Lead time if all products are in stock and does not take into consideration back orders or out of stock items.
Check Availability will give you real time information similar to Industry Mall on the selected Standard Products.
It only takes a second to check Standard Product Availability.
Before giving your customers lead times use “Check Availability”. Check Availability will provide a current status of the selected Standard Products.
In the event the “Requested Lead Time” is added to a quote make sure you add a “Quote or Global Note” that you state the “Lead Times are estimates and subject to change”.
Check Availability from the Product Catalog
From the Task Menu click on the Product Catalog Icon. In my example I am going to search for a HF361. Locate the HF361 in the Product Catalog page. At first glance all you see is a description and the ability to add to quote. Mouse over the information. A hand will appear when you target the catalog number. Click on the catalog number!
