Multi Mains and Branches Switchboard (Video 8.36 min)


This article provides steps and information on the Multi Mains and Branches Switchboard in COMPAS Go. 

When would you configure a Multi Main and Branches Switchboard? Multi Main and Branches Switchboards uses the “ 6 Handle Rule”.  

The NEC (National Electric Code) in Article 230.71 allows the use of not more than 6 switches or circuit breakers per service for the disconnection of power at the service entrance location.

1. Multi Mains and Branches do not require a main device as long as the configuration meets the 6 Handle Rule.
    (When Service Entrance is selected)
2. In most cases a smaller footprint.
3. Cost effective. No Main Device. --> This usually isn't an option; it's usually just part of the specification.
