PowerMod Surge Protection Updates (ref. BTKB-677)
- The ASCO Large format TPS3 series family of product is no longer available from the supplier. (Standard not Skinny)
- Existing orders for PowerMod product will be filled from stock or product previously ordered where possible.
- Changes for Internal Mount TPS3 will be affective with the end of March release to Production.
- The current TPS3 “Type 1 - Internal mount” that are Factory installed are being replaced.
- The NEW TPS4 Series “Type 1 - Internal mount” will be a different construction but fit approximately the same space.
- These are changing from “Factory installed” to “Field installed” SPD products to help with Supply chain issues. Customers will be ordering either:
- 1-phase WSPD1S or 3-phase WSPD3S PowerMod modules
- COMPAS will add child line for the appropriate TPS4x06 series Surge device which will be field installed. NOTE: All TPS4x06 devices come with Disconnect pre-installed – there is no longer a choice of “with or without” the disconnect.
- Conflict Messages: There are a few different conflict messages that appear when selections are made that “choose” one of the TPS3 series devices that are no longer available to “order”.
- These messages are suggesting changes to make in order to properly configure a similar TPS4 device.
- These conflicts and the related TPS3 options will be removed later this year after production orders are completed with some of these associated TPS3 Products.
COMPAS Defaults and rules are changing for Surge Products:
- With the phase-out of TPS3 series devices – the selection of features has changed to provide a more discrete number of devices that are more feature rich.
- Defaults and rules have changed to minimize “clicks” when configuring in COMPAS.
- Recommend selecting Surge current first then making other changes from values shown.
- Some options are no longer selectable but remain visible based on other selections – such as “Dry contacts” and “External Indicator Light”.
