When a customer wants to know the purpose of WLTS
The WLTS performs the following valuable functions:
1) It measures the "wake-up" time of the microprocessor to make sure that it can be ready to trip in the specified minimum time.
2) It verifies the connection of the trip solenoid and that the ETU can trip the breaker
3) It verifies the continuity of the air-core current sensors which provide the signals which are used in the protective algorithms and the CTs which provide power to the trip unit
5) It verifies the connection to the neutral or direct ground sensor and that they are continuous (if connected)
6) It verifies that the trip unit can see and respond to signals coming from the sensors
7) It verifies that the breaker will trip in the specified long time trip setting
8) It powers up the ETU so that the display can be verified
9) It provides the trip unit with signals on alternating phases so that phasing and communications can be verified
