Why won't a plug in tester trip a BLE circuit breaker?


The BLE circuit breaker is classified as an equipment ground fault breaker which offers a 30mA ground fault protection.

Most plug in testers are designed to trip a 5mA ground fault personnel protective device. These plug in devices to not generate enough leakage current to cause the BLE breaker to trip. The proper method for testing a BLE circuit breaker is to use the push to test button on the breaker itself.
