When to use Tapered Bus vs. Non-Tapered Bus in switchboard configuration in COMPAS Go?

This article describes the usage of Tapered Bus vs. Non-Tapered Bus in switchboard configuration. Used when value engineering a job that allows for Tapered bus.

  1. Tapered Bus is the default selection when configuring a switchboard, but specifications more often than not require non-tapered bus.
  2. Tapered bus is when the bus bars inside a switchboard taper off towards the end, where less amperage is required.  This means there is less total metal used overall, thus lowering the total price of the switchboard.
  3. The "Tapered Bus" option is shown in the "Bussing" tab.
