In COMPAS GO create quote is termed as "Create Project". It allows user to create quote for “Field Sales Engineers” and “Distributors”. It helps to organize the quotes created. Also, there is options to generate BIM file after doing the Busway sketch.
1. Login into COMPAS with valid credentials and create a quote/project, click here
2. On successful creation, quote is created. It can be seen as shown below. User can select the "" for configuration.
Also, the same can be view in the recent quotes in the home page. Open the quote and click "Add Products" from the action menu
Click on the "" to initiate the configuration.
3. On doing so, user is navigated to the following page
Note: The attributes marked in "Blue" are mandatory and marked in "Grey" are not mandatory.
4. Create Manual option is available once all the mandatory attributes are selected. Click on the "Create Manual" button.
a. On doing so, the following page is available
b. On clicking the "Add Components", the user is navigated with options to add different components as shown below.
Components available for the user to add and configure are listed below.

Description / Remarks |
1 |
Used to interconnect equipment, such as between a transformer and a switchgear line up. |
|
2 |
Plug-in style busway has openings every two feet where power can be tapped off using the various plug-in units. Feeder style busway does not have any plug-in openings where plug-in units can be installed |
|
3 |
Busway risers (vertical busway) can be installed economically in a high-rise building where it can be used to distribute lighting and air conditioning loads. Busway is used in various applications and can be found in industrial installations as well as high-rise buildings |
|
4 |
A field fit section of busway is typically an elbow or a short section of feeder that is intentionally left out of a run for later shipment. It is most often a mutually agreed upon section between the customer and the plant |
|
5 |
Busway as defined by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) is a prefabricated electrical distribution system consisting of bus bars in a protective enclosure, including straight lengths, fittings, devices and accessories |
|
6 |
A terminal box, or a tap box, is an enclosed, non-fusible bus plug used to feed bus duct systems. ... Plug-in tap boxes connect the busway to a bus plug. End tap boxes are attached to one or both ends of a plug-in duct run. |
|
7 |
A center tap box is a convenient way to supply power to the middle of the busway run, as opposed to the standard end cable tap box which is attached to the start of the busway run. ... Other busway series plug into a plug-in port where a bus plug would normally be installed |
|
8 |
Each Sentron Busway piece is shipped with a joint stack and joint covers installed at one end of the busway and a shipping end protector at the other end. The joint stacks feature a single bolt design and a special, torque indicating, double headed break-off bolt. |
|
9 |
Service heads are used to connect the busway to the electric service. There are two types in the Sentron series. A single service head that has all three phases, or three separate heads, one for each phase. |
|
10 |
Flanged ends are also used to connect busway equipment such as switchgear and switchboards. These can be used |
|
11 |
In a busway having plural busbars disposed with their broad sides in face-to-face relation, the ends of longitudinally aligned outside busbars are cut at complementary angles to create a single edge connecting segment for each busbar which extends through a phase transposition zone. |
|
12 |
Expansion fittings are used when a busway system crosses an expansion joint in a building, or on long straight runs where both ends are held in a permanent fixed position. The Sentron expansion fitting contains a sliding expansion enclosure. Flexible connectors in the expansion enclosure allow a ±2 movement. |
|

15 |
End closers are used to safely terminate a run of busway and protect the bus bar ends |
|
16 |
Cubicles provide a means of mounting switches or circuit breakers where power enters or leaves a busway system. Inline disconnect cubicles are used where bolted connections are preferred, or at ampere ratings exceeding the standard plug-in unit ratings. |
|
17 |
In busway, a riser is a length of vertical busway. Panelboards and meter centers can be mounted directly to risers with a side-mounted adapter. When Sentron plug-in busway is used as a riser, plug-in receptacles are located only on one side |
|
18 |
Various hangers are used to support busway. When a vertical run of busway passes through a floor, a floor support is required. Spring hangers provide secure mounting of Sentron busway in riser applications. These hangers counter the weight of the busway on each floor and compensate for minimal building movement and thermal expansion |

The busway and associated fittings shall consist of [aluminum] [copper] conductors totally enclosed in a two-piece extruded aluminum housing. ... Fittings — such as elbows, tees, flanges, etc. — shall be identical for use with both the plug-in and feeder types of busway |
|
25 |
||
26 |
Sentron Busway incorporates an all aluminum housing. This lightweight totally enclosed, non-ventilated housing resists rust and other elements, distributes heat away from the conductors, and provides an excellent ground path |

Sections of Siemens Sentron busway, for example are clamped together with a joint stack. Siemens BD™ busway is bolted together. |

Each Sentron Busway piece is shipped with a joint stack and joint covers installed at one end of the busway and a shipping end protector at the other end. ... Isolation joint stacks are available and used to electrically isolate a busway section(s) within a busway run. |

A busway reducer is used to reduce the allowable ampere rating. Money can often be saved by using a lower rated group of sections near the end of a busway run. A branch circuit, for example, does not need as high an ampere rating as the main feeder circuit |
