This article describes the usage of Tapered Bus vs. Non-Tapered Bus in switchboard configuration. Used when value engineering a job that allows for Tapered bus.
- Tapered Bus is the default selection when configuring a switchboard, but specifications more often than not require non-tapered bus.
- Tapered bus is when the bus bars inside a switchboard taper off towards the end, where less amperage is required. This means there is less total metal used overall, thus lowering the total price of the switchboard.
- The "Tapered Bus" option is shown in the "Bussing" tab.
